Analytical Algorithm for Oxygen Concentration of Aircraft Fuel Tank in Various Inerting Stages

Ullage washing is an efficient inerting method to keep the ullage oxygen concentration under safe value, thus reducing hazard and loss of fire explosion aircraft fuel tanks. In conventional model washing, initial derivatives that are used solve differential equations selected subjectively by researchers empirical select influences accuracy result. Therefore, this paper proposes analytical algorithm can calculate without selecting any derivative value. The based on a tank regarding various stages. It has been experimentally validated with average relative error 5.781%. Moreover, sensitive analyses carried out proposed show ground-based effectively reduce oxygen, in climb phase. Increasing 5 min pre-takeoff duration shorten time decreasing 9% after takeoff 2.1 min.
